The previous average lifetime of belts on this conveyor was less than 5 months. Although the customer felt that this was an acceptable operational lifespan, the local Dunlop distributor persuaded them to try UsFlex because of its higher tensile strength and better cover quality. The belt has already been running for more than double the lifetime of the previous belt type and continues to perform extremely well. The UsFlex 630/1 6+3 has been such a success that another one has recently been just installed in the same quarry, again replacing a conventional multi-ply belt.
