Top of the class

Did you know?

We have been leading advocates of REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemical Substances) compliance within the conveyor belt industry for a great many years. The regulation places direct responsibility on all manufacturers to manage potential risks that could arise from chemicals used within their manufacturing processes including those that have category 2 carcinogenic classifications. Conveyor belt manufacturers located outside of EU member states and the UK are not subject to the regulations. They are also not subject to EU regulation concerning Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) including those that are bioaccumulative in human and wildlife and toxic to aquatic organisms, even at low concentrations. This means that they are free to use unregulated raw materials even though those same materials may be entirely prohibited or at least have strict usage limitations within the European community. The potential impact on human health and the environment is enormous.

You have, of course, heard all this before. What you almost certainly will not have heard before is that our level of compliance with REACH regulations has reached such an unprecedented level that all of our products could safely be used by children.

Although we do not expect to see children riding along on conveyor belts any time soon, the significance of this achievement is hugely important. The regulations surrounding rubber play equipment are, quite rightly, the most stringent imaginable. So it is fair to say that our products are the safest for human contact and the environment. When it comes to REACH, Dunlop Conveyor Belting is literally top of the class!
